Over a year has passed and we figured it was time to update our
website with more current information about the girls.
Hannah
is in first grade and is enjoying it in every way. She is growing
up to be such a polite, thoughtful and wonderful little girl. She
turned 6 years old in September and what she wanted for her
birthday was a scooter and more Barbie dolls. Hannah is such a
homebody. She enjoys learning how to cook, reading, playing on the
computer and playing with her sisters. She is the proverbial
"first child," with a great deal of nurturing
tendencies.
Sarah
just turned 4 in January and has been attending preschool in the
4-year-old program. She is a very outgoing little girl. She is
extremely athletic and loves to run, swim, ride her bike (fast!).
She also loves Dragon Tails on television, although the new
favorite show to watch in our home is Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese
Cat. Sarah is taking pre-ballet and movement lessons and she is
doing very well with them. She is an intelligent child with a
great deal of curiosity and wonder. She asks very
thought-provoking questions and she requires an in-depth answer.
Her mind and body are always on the go!!!! Sarah is going to be
tested to see if she may enter kindergarten a year early.- as she
misses the State's cut off birthdate by one day.
Rebekah
turned 2 years old in early September. She is outgoing and
engaging. She is quick with a smile and hug. She will do anything
to make you laugh and do it again and again. She wants to
"perform" for everyone and be right in the middle of
everything. Rebekah loves to pester her sisters (as all
"baby" sisters will do!) and then think she can get away
with things because she gives a hug to make everything better. She
is very tall for her age. She had her two-year-old check up in
September and she is in the 95th percentile on the western growth
chart for height and 80th percentile for weight. The doctor
indicates that she is well-proportioned and is developing
extremely well.
We
recently spent some reunion time with some of the families that we
traveled to China with in 1996 (Hannah's trip home). It is
wonderful to see how each girl is so different, yet the bonds that
they share are incredible. We, the parents, just sat and watched
how they interacted with one another. They all know that we all
share something wonderful, exciting, unique and amazing!
We
run into adoptive families almost every place we go. Each family
was formed much the same as ours, but unique and special in their
own ways. It is a joy to share with other people our experiences
of the wonderful way that our family was united and hear of
other's experiences as well. It is a wonderful community to be a
part of.
Things
are busy in our lives with three growing girls! But we would not
change one thing!!
